Flight Nurses Australia Inc. is a forum for the speciality of flight nursing in the Australia Region that maintain an excellence in the standard of clinical nursing practice for rural and remote patients that require aviation based transport or access to preventative, emergency and definitive management of health related conditions.
All members of Flight Nurses Australia Inc. are registered nurses that practice and implement the science and profession of nursing in the aviation and transport environment, and are employed in Australia, or in any country within the South-West Pacific Region. The flight nurses represented are clinicians, educators and managers.
We have 60 members based in all Australian states and territories, and one member based in New Zealand.
To promote flight nursing in the Australian region, representative of the unique specialty of nursing in the aviation/transport environment, and to provide a professional identity and promote national recognition for flight nursing as a specialty.
That our clients are transported and cared for in the aviation/transport environment in a safe manner.
A unified voice for Flight Nurses in the Australian Region, promoting their welfare, educational standards, professional interests and to uphold the status of flight nursing as a speciality. Uphold the role of the flight nurse as a valuable member of any Aeromedical Crew. To facilitate and promote flight nursing knowledge, and continuing education through newsletters, seminars and conferences. To develop national standards for the nursing practice for flight nurses in the australia region, and to promote the delivery of quality care to our patients. Promote research that relates to health care delivery through evidence in the aviation/transport environment. Act as an adivsory body for Aeromedical information relating to the practice of nursing in the aviation/transport environment.
