Australian College of Neonatal Nurses (ACNN)

australian-college-of-neonatal-nursesAustralian College of Neonatal Nurses (ACNN) represents nurses working as clinicians, educators, managers and students working on neonatal nursing practice. We have around 700 members based in all states and territories.
The purpose of ACNN is maintaining the highest international standards in clinical practice, teaching and research; promoting and sustaining a philosophy of family-centred and individualized care for infants and their families; advancing the welfare of Australian families; recognizing the particular needs of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. The objects of ACNN are to promote the formulation and dissemination of standards of care for neonatal nursing practice; to act in an advisory capacity on the formulation and implementation of post graduate neonatal nursing and education programs; to promote and facilities nursing research related to neonatal care; to provide and promote forums at regional, national and international levels, for the exchange of information and ideas pertaining to neonatal care; to promote accreditation for changes in neonatal nursing practice; and to remain a non-profit organisation. national and international professional and multidisciplinary bodies to extend and enhance the quality of clinical practice, education and research activities; maintaining a rewarding environment for the neonatal nursing community through advocating for advancing professional practice within the context of complex and evolving systems of health service provision.
The ACNN is dedicated to the promotion of excellence in the care of neonates and their families.
