The Australian Infection Control Association Inc (AICA) is the peak national body representing the interests of the specialist practice of infection control within Australia. AICA represents the collaboration between the State and Territory infection control associations in Australia. Membership of the Association is only possible through membership of an individual State or Territory Association. AICA seeks to support those engaged in the specialist practice of infection control as well as the broader health care community in relation to infection control by acting as an information broker to its members. As a voluntary not-for-profit association AICA serves as an important vehicle for clinician lead change.
AICA facilitates education for Infection Control Professionals relevant to all levels of experience both nationally and internationally. AICA host a bi-annual conference with the assistance of a nominated State or Territory with international and local speakers providing current up to date information, as well as allowing time for members to present outcomes of their own research.
